A while ago I was prescribed 30 days worth of Ambien CR, 12.5mg little blue pills, to help with my insomnia. After gaining a tolerance, I started taking two at a time, then three, and so on. One night, I ended up taking 4.5 pills, for a total of 56.25mg of Ambien. I know that they are control released, so I would chew them. They weren't very bitter, but I would chew them fast and wash them down with water. Some would get stuck in my teeth, but I was quick to get it out and ingest it.

I had been taking Ambien for quite some time, so I had a tolerance. This is probably a bad idea for someone who has never taken this drug. I didn't drive at all, I just stayed at my apartment. I remember the onset being very pleasant, as it always is with Ambien. I love the feeling of dissociating into a dream world almost (not dissociating from myself though). From there, my inhibitions we destroyed, and I, for some reason unknown to me and my roomate, put a pillow on my head and ran outside. I was having a blast. I came back inside.

I have pretty bad OCD, but Ambien always helps with that. I remember feeling so happy with myself and wanting to communicate with others. My roomate was the only one around, so we just played some videogames (and I did quite poorly if I'm sure...) We may have watched a movie. At this point, I was drifting in and out of sleep. I wanted to sleep, but I wanted to stay awake also to keep feeling the way I did. I am obsessed with dreams, and it felt like I was in a dream world, where everything is slightly off, everything is a little weird...but it didn't phase me one bit. I have never had good experiences with psychedelics, I always get super paranoid and have panic attacks. However, Ambien seems to do the opposite, it calms me down and I don't have a care in the world.

All in all, I love Ambien. I still have insomnia, and it sucks not being able to sleep at night. However, I do use Ambien to help me sleep occasionally, but it is mainly for relaxation purposes.

Given that amnesia is a huge side effect of Ambien, I always have a sober person watching over me, so I don't try and drive and not know or remember it.
