This happened about a year ago.

My mother and I went to the dentist's office to get a couple of silver fillings replace with white ones. The nurse asked me if I wanted the laughing gas. I looked to my mother and she said, 'It's your choice.' I eagerly agreed.

I was sitting in the dentist's chair when the nurse put the nose mask on me. At first, I didn't think I felt anything, mild relaxation if anything. She asked if I thought I needed more, I said, 'Sure, crank it up.' About two minutes later, I was really relaxed. They had installed televisions in the ceilings, so the Comedy Central channel was really making me giggle. It felt as if I was falling into some hole. Then someone said, 'Hi, how are you today?' I didn't notice that the dentist was standing over me. I just smiled and I think he got the message that I was out of it. He proceeded to do what dentists do.

As time went on, I was falling deeper and deeper into my little hole. I knew the people were there, I just didn't care. I couldn't feel the chair beneath me, so it was almost like I was floating. Then, something amazing happened. I blinked (Very slowly, mind you. Everything is slow on nitrous.), and when I opened my eyes, the doctor had turned into at first what looked like a DNA strand that was all blue. The nurse had a white shirt, so she was white. Then the light above me got really, really bright and the doctor and the nurse morphed into what looked like butterflies. They flew above my head and all around. I didn't want to close my eyes because I was afraid that the visual would go away. Seeing the hallucination was like watching a fucking awesome movie. I was transfixed and could not look away and I hoped that it never ends. Anyway, I ended up blinking and the room when a hazy mix of colors, then it was normal again.

The dentist finished up the procedure and turned the gas off. I sat up and immediately began explaining my experience to anyone who would listen. They got a real kick out of me.

To this day, I always use nitrous at dentist's offices and continue to have odd experiences like this one.
