grey
dream
I let go. No
other choice remained, but to gouge my weeping eyes, and crawl into
the fire. The piercing light of insight had not revealed the truth
for which I had manically searched, only the translucent veil of ignorance
and childish lies. Only the overwhelming falsehood of my prior beliefs
remained. I fell into the deepest void. Utter emptiness. I floated,
as if in a cold and grey dream, a coma, clutching with leprous hands,
as each and every brick, from which I had constructed my temple, dissolved
into dust and slipped through my frozen fingers. I drifted through
eternal mists, grasping insubstantial and fleeting wisps of smoke
in vain. What once were pillars of foundation, only the ashes of truth
remained, to comfort my hollow and slumbering mind.
