Do you have information about long-term or reproductive effects of mushrooms?
Q: Can you tell me about the long term physical effects of mushrooms on the body; such as reproductive effects? Or can you tell me where I can get this information?

Thanks

A: There are no known long-term effects of psilocybin mushrooms. Psychoactive mushrooms have been used for thousands of years by several cultures and there are no recorded long-term adverse health effects related to their use.

There are rumors about pretty much all psychedelic drugs causing reproductive harm...nearly all of these are false. It is a common scare tactic used to dissuade people from experimenting. This is a completely separate issue from whether or not use during pregnancy can affect the fetus, but in the case of mushrooms there is little evidence that even that is a problem.

Hope this helps.
