I see the exploration of my own consciousness as one of the most important aspects of my life. Recently, as the realities of a career and responsibilities have emerged as I approach 30, I decided that I wanted to see if I could enhance my mental faculties in order to better cope with the heightened stress level, need to perform mentally at a high level most of the time, and desire to give my all to my endeavors. My memory is far worse than my analytical capabilities and this has been confirmed by an intelligence test taken in a clinical setting when I was 18. I notice this about myself and it often frustrates me and I hoped that I could address this through a nootopic substance. I did some research online regarding nootropic drugs and after some deliberation I decided to order some Pramiracetam and Alpha GPC as a choline source to co-administer with it. I read some accounts of experiences around the web, some saying that it helped massively memory and cognition and others that it did almost nothing for them.

Regarding the dosage and other psychoactive chemicals in my body; in the morning I usually have one cup of espresso, and I did that about one hour prior to taking the Pramiracetam in capsule form (400 mg) and Alpha GPC (500 mg) as a powder. I got a good night of sleep the previous night, most likely due to the fact that I worked out quite hard the previous night (which I find helps me sleep and thus have better mental acuity the following day). I also had two eggs, bacon and toast in the morning as well as a banana and a glass of water. The eggs might be important as I have heard that they are a natural source of choline as well.

I have also recently cut down on my alcohol consumption from about 5-8 drinks a week to around 2 for about 5 months. I have done this as alcohol does not co-exist very well with exercise and does not allow me to work out as hard. I also wanted a cleaner baseline to test the effects of the nootropic (although I still drink coffee because I love it). I take no other medications.

After 30-40 minutes of taking the Pramiracetam and Alpha GPC simultaneously I start to feel more mentally relaxed and less anxious. After about an hour, this feeling peaked and I no longer obsessively check my task lists to see what I have and have not done as I anxiously do when I only drink coffee. I am able to focus on a particular task and bring it to completion more readily than I would otherwise and am less easily distracted. I cannot say for certain that my memory is improved nor that my cognitive abilities are better for certain as this would require some kind of objective experiment. What I can say is that I feel that my brain is “firing on all cylinders” and that that I can maintain this feeling for much longer than I can in the absence of the Pramiracetam and Alpha GPC. I do not necessarily feel that I have enhanced, but rather that my natural mental faculties can emerge and other mental dissonance has faded away. In a strange way, I feel that everything that I am not focusing on in a particular moment is less important that what I am currently working on: that I am in a fog except for the object of my attention at that moment. My mind is relaxed but still highly functioning (for me). It is, overall, a quite pleasant feeling. This feeling lasts for about 5 hours and then slowly dissipates until I am back to my mental baseline within 7 hours.

I do not take this daily, only when I know that I must hyper focus on a particular task for a longer duration of time as I am not aware of any damage that this might do to my body. I have no side effects from it besides some heartburn from the Pramiracetam which is a quite nasty tasting crystalline substance. I also have experience with Piracetam, which I found had very little effect on me, although I administered that with Choline Bitartrate which I have heard is a less effective choline source.
